Mannum Tennis Club was first founded by our pioneering families including Captain William Arnold , back in circa 1880 , where a social but competitive game was regularly played on a basic hard court on Esmeralda Street , near where the Mannum Hospital stands. From these early beginnings , Tennis has been played on a variety of local courts , up until the 1980s when the current Tennis Court precinct was built and consolidated. It was then that the Mannum Tennis Club became an Incorporated body and the number of people playing Tennis in our town really grew.
