Timed and recorded, and swimmers have the opportunity to improve their personal best times. Swimmers who achieve qualifying times may also have the opportunity to compete at higher levels, such as regional, state, and national competitions.

Training sessions are held at the Mansfield Swimming pool on Apollo Street. The outdoor pool operates from November to March, during summer. The club also offers “out of season” activities, which can be found in the Members Information tab on the club's website. Training sessions are scheduled based on lane and coaching availability, and swimmers are allocated to groups according to their skill development level.
Coaches are always present during training sessions to provide guidance and support.
In addition to training, Mansfield Swimming Club also organises various events throughout the season. This includes intra-club competitions, where swimmers have the opportunity to showcase their skills and compete with fellow club members. The club also participates in interclub competitions, representing Mansfield against other clubs in the Hume/Upper Goulburn District. These competitions contribute to the overall points tally for the district shields.
The Mansfield Swimming Club committee meets monthly and welcomes input from members on club-related issues. Members can direct their concerns to committee members either in person, through direct contact, or in writing to the club's postal address. The club values the safety and wellbeing of its members and has a designated Child Safety & Grievance Officer who can be contacted for any concerns.
