Melbourne Surge Water Polo Club

Melbourne Surge Water Polo Club is Victoria's only LGBTI and inclusive water polo club. The club welcomes individuals from all walks of life, regardless of their ability or how they identify. Its main goal is to provide a fun and socially active organisation for its members and help them achieve their personal goals.

Many members join Melbourne Surge to make friends and embrace a sense of community, while others join to focus on their fitness goals. Some individuals come to the club to try something new, while others are reconnecting with a sport they have played in the past. Regardless of the reason, all are welcome to join and participate.

One of the highlights of Melbourne Surge is the Resurgence Cup, which is the club's first-ever interclub tournament. Members of all skill levels participate in this event, offering the opportunity to play and learn from each other. The club is proud to have seven teams in the Water Polo Victorian State League for the 2022/23 summer season, marking a significant milestone in its history.

Melbourne Surge also plays a significant role in Melbourne's Midsumma Festival. The club takes part in various events throughout the festival calendar, including the Midsumma Carnival, Pride March, Team Melbourne Sports Day, VAC Pool Party, and Chillout Festival in Daylesford. Members proudly sport their signature pink and black outfits during these events, fostering inclusivity and unity.
