Mitcham Meteors Boccia Club is a sports club based in Adelaide, South Australia. It is a part of Boccia South Australia, a non-profit sporting organisation established in 2012. The club was re-established in September 2021 by Liam Goldfinch, an ex-committee member, athlete, coach, and referee.
The club offers boccia training sessions every Friday from 4:30pm to 5:30pm, starting from the 6th of May 2022, and only during school terms. The training sessions take place at the state-of-the-art Adelaide Botanic High School, located at 2 Frome Rd, Adelaide SA 5000.
The Mitcham Meteors Boccia Club welcomes players of all ages, starting from 10 years old. It is not limited to Adelaide Botanic High School students, making it an inclusive and diverse club within the community. To cover the cost of the venue, there is a $10 coach fee per week.
The club aims to provide a safe and engaging environment for players to learn and excel in boccia. Boccia is a precision ball sport similar to bocce and bowls, specifically designed for athletes with physical disabilities.
