Announcement that Mothar Mountain Speedway is a totally smoke-free area. Smoking is only permitted in designated smoking areas, and it is not allowed in the seating areas. The club also prohibits the carrying and consumption of alcohol on the premises, but there are designated areas where alcohol can be purchased.
Mothar Mountain Speedway, located in Gympie Regional, is known as “The Home of Champions” due to its history of producing both current and former state and national champions in various speedway racing classes. The track has a unique, undulating “kidney” shape that incorporates a tight hairpin bend, providing a challenging layout for races. The track's history dates back to the early 1960s when motorcycles were the primary vehicles used for racing.
Today, Mothar Mountain Speedway hosts a variety of speedway racing classes, including Junior Sedans, National 4's, Street Stocks, Production Sedans, Modified Sedans, Super Sedans, Late Models, AMCA, and a selection of open wheelers. Spectators enjoy a great viewing experience with multiple viewing stands situated around the track and terraced banking, each providing a different perspective of the racing action.
The track surface is regularly topped with clay resurfacing, ensuring manageable, predictable, and reliable track conditions. To enhance the spectator experience, Mothar Mountain Speedway has two canteens offering food and beverages, both with licenced areas.
