Nambucca Heads Island Golf Club, located in Nambucca Shire Council, is a picturesque sports club that offers a unique golfing experience on Stuart Island. Surrounded by the beautiful Nambucca River, the club offers a magnificent setting for a game of golf. While playing, golfers can enjoy the sight of dolphins swimming in the pristine river, as well as a variety of bird life including pelicans, osprey, and sea eagles flying overhead.
Designed by Ross Watson, the par 69, 18-hole layout is both challenging for experienced players and enjoyable for average golfers. The fairways are lined with she oak and paper bark trees, providing a flat and easy walk for golfers. The club takes pride in its Bent Grass greens, which are often described as the best north of Newcastle and are the result of decades of dedicated maintenance work.
Located just ten minutes off the Pacific Motorway and 30 minutes south of Coffs Harbour, the club is easily accessible for both locals and visitors. Guests are welcome to stop by and enjoy a cold drink or lunch on the deck overlooking the river.
In addition to golf, the club offers a range of clubhouse services and activities. The clubhouse is open every day, and there are raffles held every Wednesday night. Happy Hour is available Monday to Friday from 4pm to 5pm, and the restaurant is open for lunch every day and dinner Tuesday to Saturday.
The club also has a fully stocked Pro Shop, where golfers can find all their equipment needs. Motorised carts are available for hire as well. The club has reciprocal rights with other golf clubs, allowing members of these clubs to play at Nambucca Heads for competition fees or social golf fees.
