Narrabri & District Pony Club is located in the Northwest of New South Wales, Australia, in the town of Narrabri. Known as “The Sportiest Town of Australia,” as named on the Today Show, Narrabri Pony Club welcomes riders from 4 to 24 years old who own or lease their horse or pony. The club caters to all levels of riding, from beginners on a lead rein to advanced riders competing at the State level.
The club's grounds are situated at the local showground, with convenient entrances at Ugoa Street & Wukawa Street. The facilities include a spacious sand arena, a cross country course, and two large arenas for show riding, sporting events, campdrafting, and showjumping. These versatile facilities allow for various equestrian disciplines to be practised and enjoyed.
For over 50 years, Narrabri & District Pony Club has hosted a week-long camp in the October School Holidays. This camp is open to children aged 6 to 17 years and offers instruction in numerous equestrian disciplines, including flat riding, showjumping, mounted games, campdrafting, sporting events, and dressage. The camp aims to provide a comprehensive equestrian education while also offering enjoyable and fun activities for the participants.
In addition to the core disciplines, the club also offers other areas of interest, such as polocrosse, cross country, tent pegging, musical ride, and handling a harness horse. The availability of these activities depends on the availability of instructors and the level of interest displayed by the children.
The Narrabri & District Pony Club encourages individuals and families to come and visit the club to see what it has to offer. The club is proud to have Club Captain Kate Partridge leading its activities and ensuring the well-being and enjoyment of its members.
For the safety and protection of all its members, the club requires those who work or volunteer with or around children, with more than incidental contact or overnight presence on the grounds, to obtain a Working With Children Check (WWCC) number. It is a simple process to obtain a WWCC number and is compulsory for most of the club's volunteers.
To stay updated with the club's events and activities, interested individuals can visit the club's website or social media pages. The club also encourages individuals to become members and take advantage of the many benefits offered. The Narrabri & District Pony Club looks forward to welcoming and sharing the joy of equestrian sports with everyone.
