Welcome to the official website of the Noradjuha-Quantong Football and Netball Club.
G’day, and welcome to the Bombers hangar for yet another season.
Last season was an immensely successful one for our club, taking out the Horsham District Football Netball League club championship, a fantastic reward for effort from our players, supporters and hard working volunteers.
We took out three leadingships for the year, in the B Grade and C Reserve netball, along with our under 17s footballers, taking home the flag for the first time in the club’s history.
There was a lot of success in other grades also, with ten out of eleven sides participating in the finals.
Individually, there were a load of incredible achievements, highlighted by James Gregg capturing the u/17s league best and fairest and Maddie Focroul, taking out top honours in the 17/u's netball.
Looking forward, the club will have a fresh look in the coaching department.
Club stalwarts Heath Francis and Jason Kerr will take the reins in the senior football.
The pair are excited by the prospects of our group this year, which will be young and speedy, featuring a handful of graduates from the successful u/17s side of last year.
In the reserves, Benn Molineaux will hope to follow on from the successes of the last couple of seasons and go one better and push for a grand final spot.
It will be a busy year for Heata, who will also continue on in his role as u/17s coach – after a premiership who can blame him?
Wayne Hobbs rounds out the football coaching panel, aiding the development of the u/14s, while Susan McKenry will continue doing her fantastic work co-ordinating the Auskick programme.
On the netball court, we welcome Wimmera netball veteran Sharon Fedke to the club as co-coach of the A Grade with Yolly Francis, while Chloe Gabbe and Georgia Francis will aim to continue the club’s success in B Grade.
In C Grade Natalie Bourke and Meghan King will do the job, while we await someone to take over the prime job of aiming the C Reserve to go back to back.
For the junior netball, Yolly Francis teams up with Rachel Pipkorn for the 17and under's, 15 and under coaches will be Katrina Kerr and Chloe Gabbe and Kylee Walter will do the 13 and under, with a NetSetgo coach yet to be appointed.
On a side note, what a busy year for the Francis family, with Heath coaching two grades of football, Yolly coaching two netball sides and Georgia the B Grade.
To top it off, Yolly’s partner Benn will be at the helm of the reserves side, so we thank them for their dedication to the club.
Along with our on-field success, our hard working committee and team of volunteers have developed one of the best sporting facilities in rural Victoria.
This year, along with our new netball courts and state of the art function centre, we will be constructing a new electronic scoreboard.
The frame is already up and many of our older supporters are eagerly anticipating actually being able to tell the score during a nail-biting game this season.
On behalf of the committee we’d like to welcome everyone to the club for 2016, whether they are long time members or coming out to Quanny for the first time.
Best of luck to all sides and here’s hoping for another successful season.
Go Bombers!
