Club, founded in 1922, is a volunteer community service provided by community-minded individuals who have been trained as qualified Surf Life Savers. Located in Sydney's North Curl Curl, the club has a proud record of no lives lost between the flags while patrols are on duty, and the members strive to maintain this record each year.
Throughout each season, North Curl Curl Surf Life Savers spend over 5000 volunteer hours patrolling the local beach. They perform rescues, preventative actions, and treat many first aid cases. Voluntary beach patrols are provided on weekends and public holidays from September through to April each year. The club is committed to providing a vital volunteer service to the local community.
The North Curl Curl Surf Life Saving Club offers an outlet for people to become involved in this important volunteer service, as well as the opportunity for the development and education of rescue and resuscitation techniques. These techniques are taught to active members at varying degrees depending on their age.
With over 160,000 visitors during the summer months, the club is a popular destination for beachgoers. It has over 1,600 members, including 180 active patrolling members and over 600 Nippers. The club takes pride in offering quality training to assist new members in becoming lifesavers and providing further qualifications for existing members.
North Curl Curl Surf Life Saving Club is dedicated to creating a safe and enjoyable beach experience for all. Visitors are encouraged to come and enjoy the beach while knowing that they are in the hands of dedicated and highly trained surf life savers.
