Trojan Athletic was formed from very humble beginnings. Founded by a group of Melbourne Victory supporters in 2007 as somewhere to have a game together on a Sunday. Trojan fielded one team in its inaugural season in the Vicsoccer Division 1 morning league. Since then the club has made significant steps forward to establish themselves as one of the premier amateur football teams in the metropolitan Melbourne area.
