Com gs. Northam Race Club is a sports club located in the Shire of Northam, Western Australia. Established in 1863, it is one of the leading provincial racecourses in the state. The club is situated on the eastern bank of the Mortlock River and hosts an average of 20 race meetings per year.
One of the highlights of the Northam Race Club's calendar is the Group 3 Northam Mazda Stakes, which is the only regional group race in Western Australia. Additionally, the club also hosts the Listed Iron Jack Northam Cup, which attracts top-quality horses and jockeys.
The racecourse itself offers a comfortable and picturesque setting for racegoers. There are ample lawned areas where visitors can enjoy a picnic while watching the races. Throughout the year, the Northam Race Club hosts approximately 22 race meetings from May to December. The majority of these races take place midweek on either Wednesday or Thursday. However, the club also organises five feature weekend race meetings that are packed with on-course entertainment, fashions, and exciting galloping action.
In addition to horse racing, the Northam Race Club also hosts various other events and activities. These include the upcoming Kids Big Day Out, which offers free entry and entertainment for children, as well as the Sunday Session, where visitors can enjoy live music and wine tasting.
