Northern Illawarra Little Athletics Club is a sports club located in Wollongong, Australia. As a vibrant and inclusive community, the club offers a range of opportunities for children between the ages of 3 and 17 to participate in athletics and develop their skills in a supportive environment.
Registration for the 2022/23 season is conducted online through the official website of Little Athletics NSW. The registration fee is $110 for Tots (3-5 years old) and $150 for athletes aged 6 to 17. Additionally, parents are encouraged to redeem their $50 Active Kids Voucher online during the registration process. It's important to note that refunds are not available after registration.
Once registered and fees have been paid, participants are required to attend one of the two designated pick-up days to collect their registration packs. Pick-up day 1 is scheduled for Friday, 8th September from 4-6pm, followed by pick-up day 2 on Friday, 15th September from 4-6pm. These packs must be collected prior to the commencement of week 1, which is set to begin on Friday, 13th October.
To ensure the safety of all participants, a Working with Children Check (WWCC) is mandatory for all adults attending the club. Parents are required to provide their WWCC number during the registration process. Additionally, new registrations will need to provide a birth certificate or blue book. The club has a User Agreement with Bulli High School, which enforces the WWCC requirement.
Full NILAC Uniforms are compulsory for all club nights, and they will be available for purchase on the pick-up nights. The cost for a full set of uniforms is $80. It's important to note that Bulli High School requires that all parents attending with their children have a WWCC and provide their WWC number before their child's registration is considered complete.
The official start of the 2022 season is scheduled for Friday, 14th October at 4:15pm at Bulli High School. It's expected that at least one parent or adult over the age of 18 from each family remains at the grounds and volunteers every week. Little Athletics is not a spectator sport, and the club emphasises the importance of parental involvement. Failure to have a parent present will result in the child being unable to participate until the parent's return.
In terms of attendance, the club requires a minimum of 50% attendance for Tiny Tots and 75% attendance for all other athletes to be eligible for end-of-season trophies or awards. While all athletes will receive a medallion on Presentation Day, the eligibility for additional trophies or awards will depend on attendance. Parents are encouraged to adhere to these requirements to ensure their child's eligibility.
