About
Northern Tango is an enthusiastic group of people who loves Argentinian Tango. The group organises Tango workshops in Darwin through the year with several recognised teachers from Australia and, to put in practise the dancing learnt through these workshops it holds a Tango 'Práctica' (practise), a regular activity well known within the Argentinian Tango.
' Práctica' is not a tango class, but a regular time used to practise and improve your tango skills with your partner or other dancers. We carry out this ‘Práctica’ in a friendly atmosphere with a variety of well-selected tango music and the assistance of our senior dancers.
NorthernTango also organise social 'milongas'. 'Milonga' has several meanings within the Argentinian Tango jargon. Milonga is a style of happy dancing and indeed the origin of Tango. Milonga also means the place where tango dancers get together to dance socially (also known as Tango Salon).
Further, Milonga refers to the event of getting together to dance Tango.
With Northern Tango you will have the opportunity to dance the Milonga (the tango style) at a Milonga (the event) in the closest place to a real Milonga (Tango Salon) we could recreate in Darwin!!. Take this opportunity to polish your dancing and to interact with a group of enthusiastic and passionate Tango dancers.
