Ocean Ridge Cricket Club, home of the Sharks, is a well-established sports club located in Perth's north. The club has a proud history, having been established in 1979 as the North Suburban Cricket Club. In its early years, fees for membership were $20 per year and $2 per week for ball fees.
In 1980, the club was accepted into the Perth Mercantile Cricket Association and renamed Ocean Ridge Cricket Club for the 1980/81 season. The club colours were also established during this time, consisting of gold, black, and green.
Over the years, the club has seen success and growth. In 1981/82, the club relocated its home ground to Heathridge Park in Heathridge and joined the Wanneroo Cricket Association. In 1991/92, the club moved into its current clubrooms at Heathridge Park.
In 2001/2, Ocean Ridge Cricket Club was accepted into the West Australian Suburban Turf Cricket Association, which led to the removal of green from the club colours.
The club has achieved several accolades throughout its history. In the West Australian Suburban Turf Cricket Association, the club has been crowned OD3 tops in 2017/18, 4th Grade One Day tops in 2015/16, T20 Div 2 leadings in 2012/13, and many more. In the Wanneroo Association, the club has achieved Champion Club status and won leadingships in various grades.
The committee for the 2017/18 season includes President Shane Hancock, Vice President Todd Corderoy, Treasurer Shane Goggin, Secretary Kellie Boyer, Director of Cricket Operations Callum Rudrum, Junior Liaison Officer Stewart Gill, and Committee Members Lee Aeschlimann, Terry Hobson, Ryan Ross, Shane Whetheral, and Michael Boyer.
