Orienteering Western Australia (OWA) is a sports club based in Perth, Western Australia. The club offers a range of orienteering events and activities for members of all ages and abilities.
OWA's most popular event series is MetrO, an urban summer series that takes place in various locations in Perth. These events are dog- and pram-friendly, making them suitable for families as well. MetrO is a great way to keep up your training over the summer, explore different places in Perth, and enjoy catching up with friends. Many of the venues for these events are situated in scenic locations, perfect for a post-run picnic or BBQ dinner.
For those who are more serious about their running, there is also a series-long competition where participants can accumulate points over the whole season.
In addition to the MetrO series, OWA organises a variety of other events throughout the year, including the Kambarang Carnival, which is a highlight of the orienteering calendar. This carnival includes multiple events over several days and attracts orienteers from across the country. OWA also hosts the Australian Schools Championships as part of the carnival.
OWA values the rich cultural heritage of the area and acknowledges the Noongar people as the Traditional and continuing Custodians of the land on which their events take place. The club pays respects to Elders past and present.
