Padstow Hornets FC is a family community-based, volunteer-run, amateur football club located in Sydney, Australia. The club's home ground is situated at Stuart Street Padstow, behind Padstow McDonalds. With a strong focus on inclusivity, Padstow Hornets FC offers teams for boys and girls of all ages, starting from Kindy and Under 6 all the way up to Men's and Women's All Age, Over 35, Over 45, and leading League.
One of the club's proudest achievements is its top League Team, which has been the reigning leadings for the past three consecutive seasons, winning in 2018, 2019, and 2020. Additionally, they have also clinched the title of Minor tops in 2019 and 2020. While the Under 6 through Under 11 age groups play in a non-competitive environment, they still engage in a “home and away” format at various soccer fields around Bankstown. From Under 12 onwards, individuals participate in a more competitive competition, including semi-finals and finals.
For children too young to participate in the Under 6 competition, the club offers the Kindy Squadron, a non-competitive game format. The matches kick off every Saturday at 8:00am during the season at the Stuart Street Reserve, providing a relaxed and fun environment for kids to learn basic football skills.
Padstow Hornets FC aims to make football accessible for all families, and to support this goal, they offer various discounts and rebates. Families with multiple children receive a discount of $20 for each child after the first full-paying child, as long as they are registered under the same Dribl account. Additionally, there is a Junior Girls Supplementary Discount of $25 for ages 5-12, encouraging more girls to participate. Full-time adult students can also avail of a $25 rebate upon providing proof to the Club Registrar.
As an extra incentive, all new G6 players receive free socks and shorts.
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Padstow Hornets FC has implemented strict guidelines to minimise the risk of transmission. These include not attending football if feeling unwell or experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms, practising proper hand hygiene, arriving dressed and ready to play, limiting the use of change rooms, maintaining social distancing of 1. 5 metres (except during games), avoiding physical contact such as handshakes and hugs, and refraining from sharing drink bottles and food containers.
Through the collective efforts of the committee, sponsors, and members, Padstow Hornets FC has raised enough funds to purchase new equipment for 2020. This includes 300 training balls, 200 training cones, 10 sets of SSF goals, and nets for Field 1. The club is committed to providing a quality football experience for all its players and is continuously working to improve its facilities and resources.
As a proudly community-driven club, Padstow Hornets FC is dedicated to fostering a love for football while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth. With a friendly and inclusive atmosphere, the club welcomes players of all skill levels and ages to join their football family.
