Palmerston Youth Space YMCA is a sports club located in Darwin, Northern Territory, and is part of the global YMCA network. As a not-for-profit community organisation, Palmerston Youth Space has been dedicated to serving young people in the Northern Territory for over 50 years. With a focus on empowering young people, the club believes in the power of inspired youth to make a positive impact on the world.
At Palmerston Youth Space, our mission is to provide a strong foundation, necessary tools, and support for children and young people as they navigate through life. We understand that when young people thrive, it benefits not only their own lives but also the communities in which they live. With this in mind, we offer a range of programmes and activities designed to support and enhance the lives of young people.
With a commitment to achieving tangible progress, Palmerston Youth Space focuses on four main pillars of impact: Community Wellbeing, Meaningful Work, a Sustainable Planet, and a Just World. These areas guide our grassroots work and allow us to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.
At our Early Learning centres, we provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. Our play-based curriculum prepares children for learning and life, ensuring they have a strong foundation for future success.
In addition to our Early Learning programmes, Palmerston Youth Space offers Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) services. Our OSHC programme provides a safe and supportive environment for children outside of school hours. We inspire children to seek new experiences, explore their interests, and grow both academically and personally.
Through our Youth and Community programmes, we provide opportunities for young people to engage in meaningful activities, develop new skills, and build strong connexions within the community. We offer a variety of sports activities, including basketball, soccer, and swimming, to promote an active and healthy lifestyle.
