Penrith Mini Bike Club is a sports club located in the Penrith City Council area. The club caters to junior riders aged between 4 and 16 years old and offers events in Minikhana and motocross styles.
The club conducts 8 point score days throughout the year and also participates in interclub events. Additionally, they organise training and coaching days and fun family events.
Minikhana is a motorcycle sport designed to help kids learn motorcycle skills in a controlled environment. Riders race around cones, a small motocross track, trail tracks, and Enduro tracks, all in one discipline.
The age of the rider on 1st January determines their competition age for that year. The club offers different age classes and bike categories, ranging from 4 to 21 years old.
To start, children will need a licence from Motorcycling Australia to ride at the club. Families can join the club, arrange the first ride day with the assistance of club members, and complete the necessary training and licencing requirements.
Riding fees for each child per ride day are $25, while fees for Nippers are $15 per ride day. Annual family membership fee is $100. Membership forms and working with children forms are required for each member of the immediate family.
On ride days, riders are required to sign in before 9:00am for scrutineering. The gates open at 8:00am and riders briefing is held at 9:45am. Riding sessions are held from 10:00am to 12:30pm, with a lunch break from 12:30pm to 1:00pm, and more riding from 1:00pm to 3:30pm. The day concludes at 4:00pm with riders assisting with packing up.
The canteen is open from 8:30am and offers a range of affordable breakfast, lunch, snacks, and drinks. Lunch orders need to be submitted by 10am. The club also conducts scrutineering to check the bikes and equipment for safety compliance.
