The Port Sorell Surf Life Saving Club is one of 22 Surf Life Saving clubs and services in Tasmania, providing educational and emergency rescue services to the communities of Port Sorell, Shearwater and Hawley Beach. We have a membership of over 200 people, and we have continued to grow and receive fantastic community support. We are a volunteer community service that relies solely on community donations, fundraising and corporate sponsorship to achieve our objective of providing safe beaches through our regular summer patrols and training programmes. Furthermore, we have a strong focus on educating children about surf awareness and developing their fitness and water skills and fostering them to eventually become our next generation of Surf Life Savers.
