The QLD Racing Drivers Association (QRDA) is a sports club based in Brisbane, Australia. Established in 1971, the club was created to provide a unified voice for Queensland drivers in the motor sport industry. Over the years, the QRDA has grown to serve over 180 members and has actively participated in the development of motor sport in the region.
A highlight of the club's activities is the QRDA Drivers Championship, held during each circuit racing season. This championship sees club members competing against each other in their respective categories, with each member accruing points throughout the year. The Overall Club Champion is determined based on these points. The champions are honoured at the Annual Christmas Party and Awards Presentation evening, which is scheduled for December 10th, 2022, at Kedron-Wavell Services Club.
In addition to the Overall Club Champion award, the club also presents awards such as Rookie of the Year, President's Trophy, and the Family Shield.
The QRDA takes pride in its fundraising activities outside motor sport. In 2021, the club raised over $5000 for the Children's Hospital Foundation, setting a new club record. The club also maintains a low cost of membership, with no joining fees and affiliation with the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS).
Members of the QRDA come from a diverse range of disciplines and levels in motor sport, including Off Road, Rally, Superkarts, and the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship. The club's website provides sections dedicated to Categories, the Championship, the Club Calendar, and Contact Details. There is also a feed straight from Facebook for members to stay updated on the latest news, even if they don't use the social media platform.
The QRDA invites existing and previous members to log into their accounts and renew their memberships instead of creating new accounts. Membership fees are $80 for competitors, and payment can be made through debit/credit card or direct deposit. There is a small transaction fee of $1. 70 for credit/debit card payments.
The website also allows members to update their personal details and provides assistance for any questions or concerns.
The QRDA website offers a Downloads section where members can access PDF files of current and past season materials. This includes information such as the current season's Drivers Championship and past season's points.
Lastly, the club's calendar outlines the upcoming events for the QRDA Drivers Championship 2023. Rounds are promoted by various organisations such as the MG Car Club of Queensland Inc and Cord Owners and Gatherers Society Inc. The championship takes place at different racetracks, including Morgan Park Raceway and Queensland Raceway.
The QRDA welcomes motor sport enthusiasts of all levels and disciplines to join their club and experience the thrill of racing in a supportive and united community.
