Welcome to Ranchlands Equestrian Centre, a top sports club located in Townsville since 1977. Jenny and Lew Haines have been at the helm of this esteemed establishment since its inception. Ranchlands Equestrian Centre is dedicated to teaching adults and children, with up to 5 families now on their 3rd generation, the art of horse riding.
At Ranchlands, we cater to young horse enthusiasts from the age of 6 to adults who have always harboured the desire to ride but never had the opportunity. Our esteemed instructors offer both private and group classes, enabling our students to learn basic horsemanship, dressage, games on horseback, and jumping. We understand that every student has their own unique pace of learning, and we encourage them to progress at a comfortable pace.
Riding at Ranchlands offers a plethora of benefits, beyond the purely physical. In addition to getting fit and staying supple, our students have the opportunity to interact with a likeminded community and immerse themselves in the world of horses. Riding often becomes a lifelong passion for many, providing them with immeasurable joy and fulfilment.
Jenny, one of the owners of Ranchlands Equestrian Centre, has fostered her love for riding since a young age, and her passion shines through in her qualifications and accomplishments. She holds the prestigious title of Equestrian Federation of Australia Level 2 Coach in dressage, and she is also an advanced dressage judge. Furthermore, Jenny is a trained Riding for the Disabled Level 1 coach and an Equine Assisted Learning Facilitator. Her achievements extend to state-level show jumping competitions, representing Australia at Prix St Georges level in Dressage on three occasions, and training three horses to FEI level, with one reaching the Grand Prix (Olympic) level.
Lew, the other owner of Ranchlands, brings over 45 years of experience as a professional Farrier to the centre. His extensive knowledge and expertise in the hoof department make him an invaluable asset to the team. On top of his responsibilities as a Farrier, Lew also serves as the chief maintenance man at Ranchlands Equestrian Centre.
