About
The first opportunity for people with disabilities to access horse riding in Australia occurred in Queensland in 1965 by Peter and June McIntyre. From there, activities grew rapidly across QLD and Australia and in 1985 RDAQ was founded from 5 foundation Centres.
RDAQ is a not-for-profit incorporated association and a registered charity, managed by a Committee. RDAQ provides and structures training, support, administration, and events for RDA Centres, coaches, volunteers, and riders as well as assisting in horse procurement and grant applications. RDAQ is also the conduit and liaison with RDA Australia for training and insurance needs.
