About
Rosebery Golf Course is a scenic, nine-hole golf course in far west Tasmania. It is located just outside Rosebery, a small mining town surrounded by mountains and rainforest. Rosebery is 90 minutes south-west of Burnie (125 kilometres/78 miles), and 45 minutes north of Queenstown (60 kilometres/37 miles).
Rosebery Golf Course is set among natural bush and has some lovely views over the surrounding forest and mountains. The course has an interesting layout which winds around the forest and includes some hills. Both the eighth and ninth holes are par five and are played up and then back down a large hill. The eighth hole is a feature – with a narrow tee shot, dog-leg to the left and 250-metre (820 feet) uphill to a two-tiered green surrounded by rainforest.
The area has a high rainfall so fairways are usually well grassed and the greens well maintained.
