What activities do you offer?

We are a family-oriented freshwater angling club that promotes recreational angling for people of all ages and abilities, with legal fishing methods and access to private dams.

Where and when do you meet?

We hold monthly meetings at 7.00 pm on the first Tuesday of each month (except January) at the Western Youth Centre, 79 Marion Road, Cowandilla.

How do I join and how does membership work?

You’re welcome to attend monthly meetings before joining. To collect your membership pack, you’ll need to attend one of the intake meetings, and fees and details are available via the membership link.

SAFWAA is a sports club based in Adelaide, Australia, dedicated to freshwater angling. The South Australian Fresh Water Anglers Association welcomes people of all ages and abilities to join and pursue their choice of legal fishing method.

The club offers a range of activities and outings, including regular saltwater fishing events and trips to some of South Australia's best fishing locations. Members have access to numerous private dams in the north and south of Adelaide, where they can fish for species such as cod, catfish, silver perch, callop, brown trout, rainbow trout, and trophy-sized redfin. One of SAFWAA's key goals is to increase public access to freshwater venues in South Australia. The club has been actively involved in lobbying for increased access to these venues and continues to work towards the enhancement of recreational angling in the state.

Monthly meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at Thebarton Community Centre. These meetings provide a platform for members to share fishing reports, exchange information on methods and techniques, and offer useful insights and advice. With a large membership base, there is a wealth of knowledge and experience to tap into.
