SUNS Table Tennis Association Inc. is a sports club based in Sydney, Australia. The club offers a range of activities and programmes for players of all skill levels, from social play and training to competitive games.
SUNS holds both social and competition games every Friday night from 7:30pm to 10:30pm at “The Brickpit” Indoor Stadium, located at 1a Dartford Rd, Thornleigh. The venue provides ample free undercover parking for convenience.
The club also organises regular fun challenges, where players can test their skills and enjoy a friendly competition. These challenges are held on specific dates throughout the year, such as Wednesday, 6th December 2023.
In addition, SUNS participates in the SNDTTA District Interclub Competition during spring. The club has 10 teams competing in various divisions, including top, Division 1 and 2, as well as Division 3, 4, and 5.
One of the highlights of the club's calendar is the SUNS Open Championship, scheduled to be held on Sunday, 24th March 2024. This championship features six divisions and is open to players of all levels. The event runs from 9:00am to 10:30pm, with each division concluded within no more than five hours.
SUNS also offers regular playing sessions on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 9:30am to 12:30pm. These sessions are open to all players and provide a great opportunity for seniors, families, and individuals looking for social play or serious competition training.
At SUNS, players of every skill level are welcome. Whether you're a beginner looking to play socially, an intermediate player wanting to improve your game, or a seasoned competitor seeking a friendly club, SUNS provides a welcoming and supportive environment.
The club also pays tribute to its founder and former president, Theo Morsink, who has contributed significantly to the development of table tennis in the local community. Theo Morsink was honoured with the 2021 National Volunteer Awards from Table Tennis Australia for his dedication and contributions to the sport.
