Salt SLSC is a sports club located in Tweed Heads, Australia. Established in 2004, it is one of the newest surf clubs in the country. The club is committed to ensuring the safety of the beach stretch from Salt Village to Casuarina, making it one of the safest on the New Tweed Coast.
Salt SLSC's dedicated community volunteers patrol the beach on weekends and public holidays from September to May the following year. This ensures that both residents and visitors have a safe place to swim. Additionally, during NSW school holidays, the Australian Lifeguard Service supplements the patrol services to ensure daily patrols at Salt Beach.
Considered a Family Club, Salt SLSC has a strong presence and actively contributes to building the local community. Many of its members are new to the surf movement and are there to meet new people. The club caters to people of all abilities and ages, offering a welcoming and supportive environment.
The Salt nipper programme, introduced in 2006, has become one of the most progressive programmes on the coast. It is incredibly popular among kids and parents, with a Saturday afternoon timeslot that allows families to have their Sundays free. The programme focuses on building confidence and knowledge while providing a low-pressure and family-focused environment.
Salt SLSC is committed to the local community and regularly hosts various social functions throughout the year for members, supporters, and local residents. Its family-friendly environment is one of its core strengths. With a membership base spread along the Tweed Coast and even as far as Brisbane, the club is a great place to be.
To join Salt SLSC, interested individuals can visit the club's website and navigate to the Membership section. The website also provides information on committees, club sponsors, club history, clubhouse development, events, merchandise, photo galleries, and club documents.
Overall, Salt SLSC offers a safe, friendly, fun, and educational environment for individuals of all ages to experience and develop their surf life-saving, competitive, and life skills.
