Scarboro Surf Life Saving Club

Surf Life Saving Club (SSLSC) was founded in 1928 and is located on the Esplanade in Scarborough, within the City of Stirling. Scarborough Beach is approximately 14 kilometres from Perth CBD and is easily accessible to the greater Perth metropolitan area through high-frequency public transport.

At SSLSC, their Club's purpose is to cultivate and develop an active and healthy community to generate better and more resilient people through surf life-saving. They are affiliated with Surf Life Saving WA and Surf Life Saving Australia, ensuring they adhere to the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

In 2018, SSLSC celebrated their 90th anniversary and moved into their new purpose-built facilities as part of the Scarborough Foreshore Redevelopment. These modern facilities provide members with state-of-the-art equipment and ample space for training, education, and social activities.

SSLSC prides itself on offering a range of activities and programmes for people of all ages and skill levels. They have a strong focus on lifesaving and education, ensuring members are equipped with the necessary skills to keep themselves and others safe in the water. They also have a Nippers and Youth programme, which introduces young children to surf life-saving and helps them develop their skills and confidence in the ocean.

Members have the opportunity to participate in a variety of disciplines such as swimming, board paddling, surf ski, and beach events. They regularly host and participate in surf carnivals and competitions, giving members the chance to test their skills against others from different clubs.
