Rate of the national average, making it one of the fastest-growing regions in Australia. With this growth comes an increased need for surf life-saving services, and Shellharbour Surf Life Saving Club is dedicated to meeting this need.

With a rich history dating back to 1936, Shellharbour Surf Life Saving Club has been serving the local community for over 85 years. The club has established itself as one of the leading surf clubs in regional New South Wales, with members consistently demonstrating exceptional skills in rescue operations, competition, and community service.

At Shellharbour Surf Life Saving Club, safety is our top priority. We have a dedicated team of over 250 senior patrolling members who are trained in advanced life-saving techniques. They work tirelessly to patrol our beautiful beaches, ensuring the safety of beachgoers and providing assistance when required.

In addition to our senior patrolling members, we also have a strong focus on nurturing the next generation of surf lifesavers. We have over 350 junior members, known as Nippers, who are actively involved in our surf life-saving education and training programmes. Our Nippers programme is designed to teach young children important surf awareness and safety skills, while also promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.

Shellharbour Surf Life Saving Club is proud to be supported by various local community organisations and individuals. We have the honour of having esteemed patrons, including the Mayor of Shellharbour and local business leaders. We are also grateful for the support of The Shellharbour Club, Warilla Bowls Club, Warilla Sports, Oak Flats Bowling Club, and the Shellharbour Community Bank.

To ensure the smooth operation of the club, we have a dedicated team of office bearers and club management. Our team is led by President Wayne Cavanagh, Vice President Dean Boyton, and Secretary Mel Stephen. Each member plays a vital role in the overall management and success of the club.
