Shoalhaven Bushwalkers Inc. is a bushwalking club located in the stunning Shoalhaven region of New South Wales, specifically centred in Nowra – Bomaderry, approximately 160 kilometres south of Sydney. As a non-political community group, the club is affiliated with Bushwalking NSW.
The club offers a “live” programme exclusive to members, encompassing weekend walks, Wednesday walks (the primary walking day for most club members), and social events. Members also have access to an e-newsletter featuring various articles, walk reports, and captivating photographs. Shoalhaven Bushwalkers Inc. additionally maintains a Youtube channel, periodically updated with movies captured during their walks. This provides members and the public with immersive content to showcase the beauty and adventure experienced by the club's participants.
The club offers various walks catering to different skill levels.
- Grade 1 – Andante 7 Mile Beach Walk, where participants walk along the beach to 7 Mile Beach National Park, stopping for morning tea before returning to Gerroa for lunch.
- Grade 3 - Gerroa to Impassible Gulch, where walkers traverse grassy trails and rock platforms to Walkers Beach and the Impassible Gulch. Participants have the option to return via headlands behind the houses or through the golf course and along the bike path, depending on weather conditions.
- Grade 4 - Boongan Mountain to Hancocks Creek Road, a 16-kilometre circuit walk that includes on and off-track sections above and below Jerrawangala escarpment. Walkers will encounter scenic views, creeks, waterfalls, and the chance to explore lush vegetation untouched by the 2019 bushfires.
- Grade 3 – Multi Day Sydney Harbour over 3 days, covering a total of 50 kilometres. This iconic harbour walk takes participants from Manly around the harbour to Circular Quay and then on to Watsons Bay.
