Skate Australia

Skate Australia is a nationally recognised sports club based in Brisbane that serves as the National Sporting Organisation for Skate Sports, including Skateboarding. It is officially recognised by Sport Australia, the Australian Olympic Committee, and the international federation, World Skate.

Established in 1962, Skate Australia works hand in hand with its affiliated State Skating Associations to unite and promote various active sports such as Artistic Skating, Inline Downhill, Inline Freestyle, Inline Hockey, Inline Speed, Rink Hockey, Roller Derby, Roller Freestyle, Skateboarding Downhill and Street Luge, Skateboarding Vert, and the Olympic Disciplines of Skateboarding Park and Street. The club is governed by a seven-member board of directors who have a vision to facilitate and support the growth of skate sports at all levels.

To ensure efficient management, Skate Australia has four dedicated business units: Executive, High-Performance Skateboarding, Finance and Membership, and Integrity. Despite being a small team, they take on the monumental task of overseeing five different sport disciplines and one Olympic Sport.

The High-Performance Skateboarding division of Skate Australia is responsible for managing and developing elite skateboarding talent. This includes providing support and pathways for aspiring athletes through coaching, athlete well-being programmes, and performance systems. The team consists of key individuals such as the High-Performance Operations Lead, High-Performance Pathways Manager, QAS Gen-32 Coach, Athlete Wellbeing and Engagement specialist, and National Performance Pathways Coaches.

Skate Australia's Finance and Membership unit handles all financial and membership-related matters for the club. They ensure the smooth operation of financial processes and manage membership registrations and benefits. The team works closely with other divisions to ensure the efficient functioning of the club.

Integrity is a crucial aspect of Skate Australia, and they have a dedicated National Integrity Manager who oversees all matters related to sports integrity. This includes ensuring fair play, ethics, and compliance with the club's policies and regulations.
