Welcome to the Southern Brisbane Sportfishing Club Inc, a friendly and non-competitive sports club based in Brisbane, Australia. Whether you enjoy fishing in freshwater or saltwater, using kayaks, canoes, or boats up to 6m in length, our club caters to all types of fishing enthusiasts.
As an affiliated club with the Australian National Sportfishing Association (ANSA), we uphold their ethics and values in our activities. We organise fishing trips at least once a month in various locations throughout the southern region of Queensland and northern New South Wales. This allows our members to explore different fishing spots and diverse fishing environments.
To ensure that all members have a wonderful time, we have a team of experienced fishermen who are knowledgeable in different fishing techniques. You can always learn new techniques and gain valuable insights from our ANSA “master” fishermen. Our club values both the learning aspect and the fun of fishing, making it an enjoyable experience for all.
We hold our monthly meetings on the first Tuesday night of every month, except for January. Our meetings take place at the Beenleigh Neighbourhood Centre, located at 10-12 James St, Beenleigh QLD 4207. The meetings start at 7. 00 PM and typically involve confirming upcoming trips, discussing administrative matters, and engaging in various activities.
We often invite guest speakers to share their expertise or organise other engaging events for our members. The meetings conclude by 9. 00 PM, leaving plenty of time to socialise and connect with fellow fishing enthusiasts. Complimentary coffee and tea are available throughout the gathering.
To join our club, our membership fees are among the lowest for an ANSA affiliated club. It costs only $50 for a single adult and $70 for a couple, including children or grandchildren. Membership is valid until July 2024. If you are interested in becoming a member, you can simply download our membership form from our website and email the completed form to the provided email address.
Fees can be paid through electronic funds transfer (EFT) to the Southern Brisbane Sportfishing Club Inc's account.
