The Southern Ocean Union of Longboarders S. O. U. L was formed eight years ago in October 2005 by Larry Hayes, Brian Tucker, Paul Fletcher, Glenn Emslie, Chris Meier and Craig Robertson.
The first paid up member of the club was Simon Thorne.
Since the early beginning SOUL has established itself as a family, social outgoing and fun oriented longboard club. SOUL brings together male and female longboard surfers from the Barwon Heads, Ocean Grove area and even spreads its wings as far as the western suburbs of Melbourne.
