Sporteka Kids is Australia's first multi-sport and Tennis programme specifically designed for toddlers and preschoolers in Melbourne. With a focus on fun activities and skill development, Sporteka offers a range of programmes tailored to children aged 2 years and above.
At Sporteka, children have the opportunity to participate in 11 different sports, including Soccer, Tennis, Basketball, T Ball, Hockey, Aussie Rules, Netball, Golf, Cricket, Badminton, and Athletics. These programmes are designed to help children develop fundamental motor and eye-hand coordination skills in a caring and supportive environment.
The club prides itself on providing small group sizes to ensure personal attention and the best learning experience for each child. With a family-friendly atmosphere, Sporteka aims to build self-confidence in children through sports, one sport at a time.
For those interested in Tennis, Sporteka offers both a Multi-Sport programme and an Indoor Tennis programme. The Multi-Sport programme introduces children to the essential skills of multiple sports, while the Indoor Tennis programme provides uninterrupted practise opportunities for beginners from the age of 3.
Sporteka's Indoor Tennis programme is especially beneficial for children who want to pursue Tennis but face challenges due to extreme weather conditions. The programme prepares children for competition while also offering them the chance to make friends and have fun participating in Tennis Australia Tennis Hot Shots events and challenges.
Founded in 2002 by Fatima Tawfek, a community development professional and qualified coach, the Sporteka programme aims to enhance children's confidence and self-esteem, promote a healthy lifestyle, and prepare them for participation in school and club sports.
Sporteka currently operates at various locations in Melbourne, including Box Hill, Doncaster East, Templestowe, Balwyn North, Bulleen, and Vermont South.
