Sporteka Kids is Australia's first multi-sport and Tennis programme specifically designed for toddlers and preschoolers. Located in Macedon Ranges Shire, Sporteka offers fun and engaging activities that focus on building fundamental motor and eye-hand coordination skills in young children. With a commitment to providing a caring and supportive environment, Sporteka is dedicated to helping children develop self-confidence and a lifelong love for sports.
Sporteka offers two different programmes for children: Multisport and Tennis. The Multisport programme introduces children to the essential skills of 11 different sports, including Soccer, Tennis, Basketball, T Ball, Hockey, Aussie Rules, Netball, Golf, Cricket, Badminton, and Athletics. This programme allows children to explore a variety of sports and develop a well-rounded skill set.
For children who are interested in Tennis, Sporteka provides an indoor tennis programme. This programme is perfect for children who want to learn the skills of the game but may be hindered by extreme weather conditions. Sporteka teaches beginners from the age of 3 and provides uninterrupted practise opportunities, helping children prepare for competition while enjoying the camaraderie of participating in Tennis Australia Tennis Hot Shots events and challenges.
Sporteka is committed to promoting the health and well-being of children. The programme recognises the importance of keeping children active and away from screens, providing a range of sports and activities to engage their interests. Sporteka aims to help children maintain a healthy lifestyle, tackle childhood obesity, and encourage participation in school and club sports.
Developed by Fatima Tawfek, a community development professional and qualified coach, the Sporteka programme has been running since 2002. Tawfek's expertise and passion for youth development have created a family-friendly sports programme that caters to the needs of young children, busy parents, nursing mothers, grandparents, and carers.
