St Johns Catholic Tennis Club

Welcome to St Johns Catholic Tennis Club! Located at 54 Yarra Street in Heidelberg, Victoria, Australia, our club has a rich history dating back to its foundation in 1937. Situated within the parish complex of St John's Heidelberg, our club is nestled amidst historic landmarks such as St John’s Church (established in 1853) and St John’s Primary School.

At SJCTC, we pride ourselves on providing high-quality facilities and opportunities for both members and the public. We utilise the 'Book A Court' system, ensuring that court bookings can be easily made online. Our club features three synthetic turf courts, all equipped with lights for evening play.

In addition to providing a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for tennis enthusiasts, SJCTC actively participates in various local tennis associations and groups. We engage in competitions organised by NENTG, HDTA, DVTA, NEJTA, and ERT, with teams in categories such as Veterans, Mens, Womens, and Mixed. Our day competitions consist of Metro Masters on Thursday afternoons and ERT Senior Open doubles on Saturday afternoons. Furthermore, we have several boys and girls teams competing in Saturday morning Junior competitions.

SJCTC offers a range of social tennis hitting opportunities for members. You can join in on Friday morning doubles from 9 am, Sunday morning doubles from 8 am to 10 am, and Friday night singles from 5 pm.

Our current 2022/2023 Executive Committee consists of President Juanita Tye, Secretary Cathy Alibrando, Vice President Stephen Giacon, and Treasurer Peter Candido. The General Committee includes Ken Coleman, Janine Marcon, Paul Marcon, and Daniel Pederick.
