Surf Life Saving Illawarra

Surf Life Saving Illawarra (SLSI) is a sports club located in Wollongong, Australia. As part of Surf Life Saving, Australia's leading water safety, drowning prevention, and rescue authority, SLSI works tirelessly to ensure the safety of beachgoers and promote a positive community spirit.

Covering a vast stretch of coastline from Helensburgh Stanwell Park to Windang, SLSI operates through its 17 affiliated surf life-saving clubs. Its primary focus is creating a safe environment on the beaches and coastline by providing trained surf lifesavers who patrol the beaches on weekends and public holidays.

With over 8,000 dedicated members, SLSI is part of the largest volunteer movement of its kind in Australia. These volunteers complete surf patrols, conduct public safety campaigns, and contribute to the training and development of new and existing lifesavers. The club also offers first aid and CPR training courses to both its members and the public.
