The Tasmanian Dog Training Club is a sports club located in Launceston, Tasmania. As a non-profit community organisation, the club is dedicated to assisting dog owners in training their dogs to become useful companions. The training grounds are located at Churchill Park Sports Complex, accessible via Forster Street/Churchill Park Drive entrance.
Members are encouraged to arrive on time for their classes, as the instructors may not be able to repeat instructions for latecomers. Parking is available in the car park outside the second boom gate, while parking inside the boom gate is limited to instructors only for the safety of their dogs. It is mandatory for members to wear their membership name badges during training sessions to facilitate communication between instructors and members.
Membership at the Tasmanian Dog Training Club is valid until the 30th of September each year. Only current financial members are allowed to train with the club. Dual/family membership is available for children aged 12 and above, while children under 12 are not permitted to train dogs at the club. It is essential for children to be under the supervision of an adult at all times and to behave appropriately during training sessions.
Proper attire is also required for safety and focus during training. All participants must wear sensible, enclosed footwear and avoid loose, distracting clothing. Thongs are not permitted in class.
