The Studio of Dance

The Studio of Dance, located in Braeside, Melbourne, has been providing dance tuition for over 23 years. They offer a wide range of dance styles including Jazz, Classical Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical, Tap, Theatrical, Modern-Neo, Character Ballet, Acrobatics, and VCE Dance. Students of all ages, starting from 3 years old, are welcome at the studio, with classes available for beginners through to advanced levels. Private tuition is also offered for those seeking more personalised instruction.

Conveniently situated in a quiet court with its own private car park, The Studio of Dance is easily accessible for drop-offs and pickups. The studio features brand new sprung dance Tarkett flooring, Ballet Barres, and dance mirrors. Additionally, there is a foyer with a kitchen facility, heating and cooling, and toilet amenities. Upstairs, students have access to a costume wardrobe and a dancer's retreat area where they can relax, socialise, or complete homework.

The Studio of Dance takes pride in its optional exam and competition work throughout the year, boasting a 100% pass rate in exams and aggregate wins at various local Eisteddfods. The studio hosts both a mid-year and end-of-year dance production, providing all costumes for these performances. Past and present students have gone on to study full-time dance courses and work as professional performers within the industry. Principal Emma Thorneycroft leads a dedicated teaching team of young, energetic, and experienced teachers, focusing on providing a solid technical foundation in a safe and fun environment.

In addition to regular classes, The Studio of Dance participates in a variety of performances throughout the year. These include various local competitions and Eisteddfods, as well as special events such as Christmas Carols Evening, art show openings, charity auctions, and showcase demonstrations. The studio has also had the opportunity to perform internationally as part of the USA Dance Tour in Los Angeles, with appearances in Disneyland, Universal Studios, Hollywood, and Anaheim. They have also taken part in workshops at prestigious studios such as Abby Lee Dance Studios, Millenium Dance Studios, The Edge, and Disney Performing Arts.
