The Townsville & JCU Rowing Club is situated on the banks of the picturesque Ross River between Gleeson's and Aplin's Weir. The boathouse occupies the lower ground floor of Riverside Gardens Community Centre on Riverside Boulevard, Douglas.
The Club is a nonprofit organisation and is run solely by club members who volunteer their time. Community participation is a high priority for our club, and we aim to accommodate members of the local and wider community. We offer a range of rowing programmes consisting of Learn to Row; School-based; YouthROW; and both Competitive and Recreational Masters programmes. The boatshed houses a range of ergometers and provides storage for the club's fleet of sculling and rowing shells and coaching tinnies. It is also the home base for five local schools who are members of the Townsville All Schools Rowing Association (TASRA).
