A triathlon is a multisport endurance race which is sequential and continuous. The race typically involves a combination of running, swimming and cycling. These athletes compete to complete the course within the shortest duration, and this includes the transition time between each race. As this is a combination of different activities in one event, a transition area is allotted for these athletes to change their gear so that they are well equipped for the following event.
