Welcome to Ultra Series WA, the home of Ultra Running in Western Australia. This sports club is a vibrant community that is truly passionate about all things trail and ultra running. The foundation of Ultra Series WA can be traced back to the renowned Coast 2 Kosci Ultramarathon, which served as an inspiration for the club's creation in 2016. Over the years, Ultra Series WA has grown into a thriving community of diverse and enthusiastic runners, organising a variety of incredible events across the country.
Ultra Series WA is proud to announce its expansion with the addition of Ultra Series SA and Ultra Series Australia. These new additions bring even more exciting and challenging adventures to our growing family. Moreover, we are excited to introduce Run Bus Australia, which will be launching in mid-2023. This unique concept allows participants to travel to the best trails in the country on a coach packed with seats and bunks, creating a fun-filled experience with fellow adventurous souls.
Our running community, or tribe as we call it, is truly like no other. We invite you to join us and share our passion for trails and running. Whether you are a seasoned ultra runner or just starting out, there is a place for everyone in our community. From short beginner distances to mind-boggling 200 milers, our events cater to all levels of experience and provide a supportive and inclusive environment.
Some of our upcoming events include the FERAL PIG ULTRA, which will take place on the Bibbulmun Track between North Bannister and Kalamunda in November 2023. With distances ranging from 5 km to 100 miles, this event offers a challenge for every runner. Another event to look forward to is the LIGHT HORSE ULTRA in April 2024, held in Woodvale, WA. This event features races of varying durations, from 1 hour to 24 hours, and even includes a special category for participants to run with their four-legged friends.
For those looking for a truly epic challenge, we offer events such as the TRIPLE CROWNUNDER, involving three 200 milers, and the AUSSIE THRILLOGY, three 100 milers. These events push the limits of endurance and provide an unforgettable experience for participants.
Ultra Series WA also takes pride in giving back to the community. In January 2024, we will be hosting a charity event called “24 PARKRUNS IN 24 HOURS,” with participants running 24 parkruns around Perth to raise funds and awareness for a worthy cause.
We are also excited to offer unique road courses, such as the ULTRA PERTH event in June 2024, which features a certified half-marathon and a 50 km race. This is one of the few certified 50k road courses in Australia.
Other upcoming events include DELIRIOUS WEST 100 & 200 MILER on the Bibbulmun Track between Northcliffe and Albany in February 2024, YABEROO TRAIL ULTRA in July 2024 in the beautiful Neerabup National Park, HERDY'S FRONTYARD ULTRA in March 2024, and BIRDY'S BACKYARD ULTRA in August 2024.
