Werribee Cricket Club is a historical sports club located in Werribee, a suburb of Melbourne, Australia. Founded in 1971, the club emerged from the Werribee Cricket Association and has since established an impressive reputation in the cricketing community. With a rich and interesting history, Werribee Cricket Club has become one of the well-respected cricket clubs in the Melbourne metropolitan area.
Initially playing in the Victorian Junior Cricket Association (VJCA), the club enjoyed early success before joining the Victorian Sub District Cricket Association (VSDCA) in 1973. Since then, the club has remained a part of this competitive association, which comprises 32 clubs across Melbourne. Over the years, Werribee Cricket Club has achieved remarkable success, with a total of 26 premierships, including five in the first grade.
The club takes pride in its contribution to Australian cricket and the development of talented players. Well-known Australian Test player and former national selector Merv Hughes began his cricketing journey at Werribee Cricket Club, as did Victorian Bushranger Travis Dean. Moreover, the club has produced numerous quality players, including current South Australia Redbacks and Australia A player Daniel Worrall and Victorian Under 19 representative Shaun Dean. Many players from Werribee CC have progressed to District ranks, showcasing the club's dedication to nurturing talent.
Werribee Cricket Club's season runs from October to March, during which regular matches are held at both Chirnside Park for the 1st and 2nd teams and Soldiers Reserve for the 3rd and 4th teams. The club also participates in the Twenty20 Twilight league organised by the VSDCA on Tuesday nights, providing opportunities for players to showcase their skills in a fast-paced format.
In the 2021/2022 season, Werribee Cricket Club introduced its first women's team, which competes in the NWMCA Girls Cricket competition. The club is dedicated to supporting and fostering the growth of women's cricket and aims to make significant strides in this area with the help of its members and sponsors.

Led by President Greg Waugh and supported by Vice President Ivo Havard, Secretary Sean Molloy, and Treasurer Wayne Plumridge, the committee works diligently to ensure the smooth operation of the club.
The club's committee is complemented by a dedicated match committee, which includes the club coach Chris Hennessy, assistant coaches Shane Arthur, Jeff Dean, and Ivo Havard, as well as Chairman of Selectors Kevin Gilboy. Each team within the club, from the First XI to the Women's side, is led by capable captains who bring their experience and skills to guide their respective teams to success.
