Academy of Western Australia, located in Wangara, Perth's northern suburbs. Since its establishment in 1993, the West Coast Aikido Martial Arts Academy has been dedicated to building confidence and character in children, teens, and adults through the practise of Yoseikan Aikido, a traditional Japanese mixed martial art.
The Academy offers a range of programmes designed to suit different age groups and needs. These programmes include Children's Aikido for 4 to 6-year-olds, Youth Aikido for 7 to 12-year-olds, Teen & Adult Aikido for individuals aged 13 years and above, and a Women's Self-defence Programme. Additionally, they provide Local School Programmes and private lessons.
Yoseikan Aikido, the martial art practised at the Academy, is a harmonious blend of Judo, Jujutsu, Karate, and Kenjutsu, with its foundations rooted in the budo martial art of the Japanese Samurai. While many practise Aikido as a form of nonviolent self-defence, others train in it for its mental and spiritual benefits.
The West Coast Aikido Martial Arts Academy empowers its students to condition their bodies, focus their minds, and develop an indomitable spirit. Through their authentic Budo system, which combines the best elements from various martial arts, including traditional Japanese weapons, students gain practical self-defence skills and self-improvement opportunities.
One of the Academy's key strengths is its commitment to building confidence. In a world where confidence-building activities for children are becoming increasingly scarce, the Academy offers a safe and challenging environment where students can develop unwavering levels of self-assurance, empowering them to become unstoppable.
In addition to confidence-building, the Academy also focuses on improving focus, teaching discipline, gaining strength, losing weight, and reducing stress. The martial arts classes provide training that allows students to silence distractions and concentrate on what truly matters, unlock hidden potential through discipline, become physically and mentally stronger, burn calories through consistent training, and acquire effective techniques to manage emotions and cope with stress.
Led by Ross Taylor, the owner, founder, and chief instructor, the West Coast Aikido Martial Arts Academy is dedicated to changing lives. With a team of experienced instructors, they strive to provide excellent martial arts classes tailored to each individual's goals.
For anyone looking to condition their body, focus their mind, and develop an indomitable spirit while gaining practical self-defence skills, the West Coast Aikido Martial Arts Academy of Western Australia is the premier martial arts, self-defence, and fitness centre.
