Inline Hockey is a sport similar to ice hockey but played with inline skates. Like ice hockey, skaters on two teams use hockey sticks to direct a disc shaped puck into the opponent's goal. Unlike ice hockey, inline hockey is a non-contact sport.
The playing surface can be bitumen, concrete or wooden floors, making it more accessible than ice hockey. Inline Hockey is most popular in areas with indoor artificial inline hockey rinks which make it a year-round amature sport. It can however be played anywhere where a large, appropriately surfaced and preferably enclosed venue can be found (eg Tennis court).
