Established in 2008, WSR was founded by a group of women who had never played roller derby before and had limited skating experience. However, their love for the sport and their desire to spread roller derby to all corners of Sydney motivated them to create WSR. Over the years, WSR has grown to become one of the largest and most successful roller derby leagues in New South Wales, defying all odds.
In 2018, WSR proudly celebrated its 10-year anniversary with a special commemorative logo – Ooh Ahh WSR! Throughout the year, WSR hosted a series of birthday celebrations, revisiting their most popular bout themes from the past. This showcased their rich history and demonstrated their commitment to providing exciting and captivating roller derby experiences for both their members and their fans.
