For Saturday classes, the venue is at J Block Holland Park High School on Bapaume Road in Holland Park. To access this venue, individuals should enter the school, using the school crossing with traffic lights.
Students should continue to the end of the driveway and turn right into the carpark, leading to J Block. It is recommended to arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled class time.
Sifu Ian Protheroe began his martial training at a young age, exploring various disciplines such as archery, fencing, Western boxing, and small arms training. He developed a passion for Wing Chun Kung Fu in the early 1980s and decided to devote his life to its study and perfection. After gaining full instructor status from the World Wing Chun Association, he moved to Queensland to establish the Queensland Wing Chun Kung Fu Academy, which has since become one of the most prestigious Wing Chun schools in the country.
To further enhance his understanding of the system, Sifu Protheroe regularly travelled to Hong Kong for six years, seeking out the most knowledgeable masters of Wing Chun. He is an internationally recognised instructor and has been a permanent member of the Ving Tsun Athletic Association in Kowloon since 1991. Sifu Protheroe has held various prominent positions, including State Chairman for the Federation of Australian Kung Fu Organisations and Kung Fu Advisor to the Australian Martial Arts Association.
