Woodville Little Athletics Centre

Woodville Little Athletics Centre is a voluntary community-based organisation in Adelaide, focused on the development of children of all abilities through participation in athletic activities. Established since the 1970s, the centre is run entirely by parents and family members who volunteer their time and effort. Family is at the core of our centre, and we strive to ensure that athletes and their families enjoy their experience at Woodville, while also improving their skills and performances.

At Woodville Little Athletics Centre, athletes have the opportunity to learn and develop at their own pace. Some events are modified to suit the age and ability of competitors, allowing them to compete with others of similar skill levels. We prioritise providing a safe environment with well-maintained equipment and facilities for all our athletes. Each registered athlete also participates in the centre's awards for participation and personal improvement at the end of the season.

Little Athletics is a uniquely Australian sport for children aged 3–17 years. It is based on athletics (track and field) and the events are specifically modified to cater to the ages and abilities of children. Our centre conducts a wide range of running, jumping, throwing, and walking events that are suitable for all participants.

To join Woodville Little Athletics Centre, any child between the ages of 3 to 16 can register online before attending our Saturday competition days at Findon High School Oval. We recommend arriving a little earlier to confirm registration and collect your registration information. New parents can request a short orientation session provided by committee members to familiarise themselves with the events, rules, parental roles, and equipment placement. We encourage questions and are happy to provide further information on how our centre operates.

Our website provides detailed information on our weekly event programmes, with specific programmes designed for each age group. We also have weekly points updates and achievement levels to recognise the progress of our little athletes. Awards are given to reward their efforts and achievements throughout the season.

In addition to athletic development, we place emphasis on the well-being of our little athletes. We provide information on nutrition, fluid intake, sun protection, injury prevention, and first aid/medications. While we do not claim to be nutritional experts, we encourage parents to ensure their children have a proper diet to optimise their performance on competition days.
