Yamba Surf Lifesaving Club, founded on September 9th, 1908, is one of the oldest surf clubs in the world. Having celebrated its centenary in September/October 2008, the club takes great pride in its 100 years of continuous service without any lives lost due to drowning on Main Beach during patrols.
The club's website serves as an information hub, providing contact details, fees, patrol rosters, weekly news items, monthly newsletters, details for hiring the function room, and other items of interest. If visitors cannot find the information they need, they are encouraged to reach out to the part-time office administration assistant who is available to answer queries.
Yamba Surf Lifesaving Club is located on Main Beach in Yamba, Clarence Valley Council. The club is known for its commitment to lifesaving, surf sports, and developing young surf lifesavers through its Nippers programme.
Membership at the club is divided into several categories: Active Patrol (Senior, Under 19, Under 17, and Cadet), Reserve Active, Long Service, Associate (for non-lifesaving members), and Nipper (for ages 6 to 14). Membership fees are payable annually through the online membership application on join. Sls. com.
au. All memberships expire on June 30th and must be renewed online.
As part of its commitment to member welfare, Yamba Surf Lifesaving Club is affiliated with Goodsports and has access to various training programmes and resources. These programmes tackle societal issues such as mental health and drug education. The club encourages members to take advantage of these resources to gain a clear perspective on their responsibilities.
