Yarrawood Bushwalking Club is a friendly sports club located in Sydney, Australia. As a small club, it is easy for members to get to know one another, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment. Safety is a top priority for Yarrawood, which is why they have very experienced walk leaders guiding their trips. For remote trips, the club provides 2 personal locator beacons to ensure the safety of its members. Yarrawood walks are conducted at a sensible pace, ensuring that everyone can participate comfortably.
The club offers a full range of events, including daywalks, camping expeditions, historical walks, twilight walks, car camps, and glamping experiences. Whether members prefer a leisurely stroll or a more challenging adventure, there is something for everyone at Yarrawood.
Yarrawood Bushwalking Club is also committed to recognising and respecting the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia. They pay their respects to the Elders past, present, and emerging, acknowledging their custodianship of the land where the club engages in bushwalking and related activities.
Joining Yarrawood is easy. Interested individuals can contact the Membership Secretary to learn more about the club and discuss membership options. After a discussion with a representative of the club, prospective members may be invited to attend one or two club activities on a trial basis. This allows them to get a feel for the club and decide if it is the right fit for them.
Annual membership subscriptions are $35 for individuals and $60 for families. This fee includes third-party and limited personal accident insurance for members and guests between the ages of 5 and 95. As members, individuals will be notified about activities directly via email and will receive the monthly email newsletter, “What's On,” which provides details of upcoming activities and club news.
Yarrawood encourages its members to participate in choosing and organising club activities, as well as contributing in other ways to the operation of the club.
