One of the co-founders of Younga Yoga Studio. He established the studio in 2006 with his wife, Deb, with the intention of creating a space that offers a balanced variety of vinyasa yoga classes, inspirational events, healthy living programmes, and trainings to deepen one's study of Yoga.
Located in Wollongong, Younga Yoga Studio is the first dedicated yoga space in the area. The studio moved from Keira St to its current location in Thomas St in 2009. The building, previously the Wollongong Girl Guide Hall, holds a rich history of bringing people together, and Deb and Russ have lovingly restored it using reclaimed materials to create a beautiful sanctuary in the heart of the CBD.
At Younga Yoga Studio, the classes are dynamic and challenging, but students are always encouraged to work at their own level and practise safely with awareness. All classes incorporate the principles of Vinyasa Yoga, which involves moving in a meditative state with the breath. Meditation and Pranayama are also integral parts of the practise.
The studio is committed to providing a welcoming and supportive environment where people can experience the wide-reaching benefits of yoga. They believe in the power of yoga to not only improve physical fitness and flexibility but also to bring balance and calm to the mind and create a sense of connexion to oneself and others. Rolling out your mat at Younga Yoga Studio gives you the opportunity to feel supported and inspired on your health journey, surrounded by an amazing team and an awesome community.
Along with the physical and mental benefits, Younga Yoga Studio also emphasises the importance of connexion and personal growth. They provide space for individuals to slow down, connect with others, and feel inspired. This includes workshops, events, and a sense of community that welcomes yogis at all levels of experience.
In addition to the physical and mental benefits of yoga, Younga Yoga Studio teaches simple meditation and breathing techniques that have been scientifically proven to improve brain function and reduce stress. By cultivating focus and groundedness, students can achieve their goals, implement positive change, and live an inspired life.
Since its establishment in 2006, Younga Yoga Studio has guided more than 10,000 students towards better life balance. They acknowledge and pay respect to the First Nations People and their continued connexion to the land, skies, and seas on which they practise.
If you're looking to feel fit, balanced, calm, and connected, Younga Yoga Studio welcomes you to join their community.
